OpenShift is Red Hat’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that allows developers to quickly develop, host, and scale applications in a cloud environment. With OpenShift you have a choice of offerings, including online, on-premise, and open source project options.

Based on Docker containers and the Kubernetes container cluster manager, OpenShift 3 adds developer and operational centric tools to enable rapid application development, easy deployment and scaling, and long-term lifecycle maintenance for small and large teams and applications.

Solace provides a Docker version of the VMR so you can use VMR in OpenShift today.  We have also developed OpenShift quickstart templates to automate the deployment and configuration of the VMR in an OpenShift environment which makes VMR deployments much easier.  In addition, we have made available a template to demonstrate how the can VMR used by a Demo application in OpenShift.  You can use the templates as a starting point for your own implementation.  The OpenShift templates are available here.
